The football boys of Emirates College Kakiri proudly represented the school in the Post Primary Championship at the zonal level, which was hosted at our school grounds. With full support from the school administration, the team prepared well for the tournament.
Before match day, the players went through a screening exercise to make sure that only eligible students took part. The school provided transport to and from the screening venue. During the matches, school supporters were present at the stadium to cheer and encourage the team.
On the first day, the team lost all their games. However, they did not give up. Instead, they studied their opponents, learned from their mistakes, and prepared better for the next day. On day two, the boys showed great improvement. They won one match, drew one, and lost one match.
Out of 15 schools that participated, our team ranked 9th at the zonal level. The sports teacher, Mr. Razak Baluku, thanked the school administration for the strong support given to the team. We look forward to better results in the next tournament.
